Chaotic
itinerancy as a new universal behavior in
complex systems |
In low-dimensional dynamical systems, the dynamical
behavior is classified into four categories: a steady state, a periodic
state,
a quasi-periodic state, and a chaotic state. Each class of behavior is
represented by a fixed point attractor, a limit cycle, a torus, and a strange
attractor, respectively. However, the complex behavior in high-dimensional
dynamical systems is not always described by
these attractors. The more ordered but more complex than these types of
behavior often appears. We have found one such universal behavior in nonequilibrium
neural networks, globally coupled chaotic systems, and optical delayed
systems. We called it a chaotic itinerancy. I would like to give a talk
on the recent development of the research on chaotic itinerancy. |

Magánhangzók
és matematika
(Vowel sounds and mathematics)
|
Elõadásomban a XVIII. század, pontosabban
a francia felvilágosodás két filozófiai végpontját
szeretném bemutatni, mely a maga módján ad absurdum
vitele - ha úgy tetszik logikailag legkonzekvensebb kifejtése
- a maga elõfeltevéseinek. Az elsõ a tudományos
gondolkodást - sõt a racionális reflexiót általában
- az erkölcsök megrontójaként kezelõ moralista
felfogása, Jean-Jacques Rousseau-é, aki a modernitás
kritikáját a könyvnyomtatás, az írásbeliség
elvetéséig, sõt a zenei-magánhangzók
dominálta nyelvet felváltó "elidegenedett" mássalhangzók
által uralt nyelv kulturkritikájáig fokozta. Elméleti
ellenpólusa a matematikus-filozófus Condorcet, aki a Leibniz
kezdeményezte matematikai-logikai szimbólumrendszert nemcsak
a természettudósok nemzetekfölötti kommunikációs
eszközének tekintette, hanem a nemzeti elfogultságokat,
a vallási elõítéleteket, az áltudományos
tévedéseket automatikusan kiküszöbölõ,
s ezzel az emberi jogok egyetemességét, a gondolat szabadságát
s az emberek észbeli és jogi egyenlõségét
garantáló racionalista csodafegyvernek (avagy a racianalitás
világtörténelmi hatalomátvétele garanciájának).
A fentemlített világtörténelem fintora, hogy
Condorcet kombinatórikáját a Rousseau megálmodta
ideálok - etnocentrikus állam, idegengyûlöletet
szentesítõ nemzeti vallás, teljhatalmú törvényhozó
- realizálása érdekében mozgósította,
azaz a matematizált racionalitást az irracionalitás
segédcsapatává alázta. |
