After a brief introduction focusing on the classical texts (P. Duhem, W. Quine, C. Hempel, the views of contemporary realists and anti-realists will be discussed (R. Boyd, B. Van Fraassen, N. Cartwright). The course will be based on several case studies from the history of human knowledge.
